Tom Cruise says he is "courageous".

The 46-year-old actor has revealed he discovered his brave side while portraying World War II German officer Claus Von Stauffenberg in new movie 'Valkyrie'.

He said: "Stauffenberg went from saying, 'Someone should shoot that b*****d' to realising, 'I'm the only one who can do it'. You can't really know until you're under that kind of pressure. I'm not saying this in some chest-pounding way, but I do feel I'd have that kind of courage."


Tom, who has a two-year-old daughter Suri with wife Katie Holmes, also said he disregarded people's advice about starring in the film, which sees him don a Nazi uniform.

He added to Details magazine, in which he featured in their Annual Power

List: "There's always someone telling you not to make a movie. When I did 'Born on the Fourth of July,' they said, 'This is going to ruin your career.

What are you doing?' Suicide? I've committed it. There were even people who didn't want me to make 'Top Gun'. "

Two-year-old beats Angelina Jolie's daughter Shiloh.

Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise’s daughter Suri is the most important child in showbiz, according to a poll.

The two-year-old, who is often snapped out with her mum and dad in New York, has been named the Most Influential Celebrity Tot.

She even beat Angelina Jolie’s daughter Shiloh, 2, who came second in the survey compiled by Forbes magazine.

Her adopted kids Zahara, 3, and Pax, 4, came third and fourth respectively.

Golf star Tiger Woods’ little girl Sam rounded off the top five.

Other kids to make the cut include Cruz Beckham, 3, and Britney Spears’ son Sean Preston, 3.

Tom Cruise's Suri playroom

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes bought a New York apartment and turned it into a playroom for their daughter Suri.

The Hollywood couple have reportedly been purchasing several apartments in the 12-storey building, and thought two-year-old Suri could benefit from a bigger area to keep her toys in.

A source said: "Tom and Katie now keep five units in the building. They turned one into Suri's playroom. One they use for a gym, and two apartments are for staff. In the past couple of months they've bought up all these other apartments. They're all separate and on different floors."


However, while 'Mission: Impossible' star Tom has been attempting to mix with the neighbours, Katie - who is in the city starring in Broadway play 'All My Sons' - has been keeping to herself.

The source added to the New York Post newspaper: "Tom is seen coming in and out all the time, and he's really friendly to everyone he meets. But Katie just kind of keeps her head down. Everyone in the neighbourhood is buzzing about it."

A representative for the couple denied the claims.

Tom Cruise did not plunge to his death from a cliff in New Zealand on Wednesday morning (15.10.08).

The 46-year-old actor - who has two adopted children with ex-wife Nicole Kidman and a biological daughter with wife Katie Holmes - admits he was as surprised as anybody when he heard internet rumours he had either fallen or jumped off the country's famous Kauri Cliffs.

Tom's representative Jeff Raymond said: "This is completely not true. Tom is not in New Zealand nor has he been there recently. This is erroneous and unreliable internet garbage."

This is not the first time a false report about the cliffs has made it onto the web.

Two years ago, it was reported 'Castaway' actor Tom Hanks had fallen from the sheer drop and died.

It was later discovered the story had stemmed from a hoax website which allows users to type celebrities' names into story templates.

Tom Cruise: Anti-Scientology protesters picket Katie Holmes Broadyway Show

Tom Cruise has refused to comment on the anti-Scientology protest in New York last night.

The 46-year-old actor was greeted by around 20 picketers when he went to watch wife Katie Holmes, 29, in a preview of Broadway show All My Sons.

Members of protest group Anonymous, who wore black masks, chanted 'Free Katie' as he entered the theatre.

‘We are not boycotting Katie, we are not boycotting the play, we are protesting Scientology,’ a demonstrator tells Us Weekly.

‘It is evil. Scientology kills people. It follows you home at night. It is perverted.’

All My Sons runs until 11 January.

Tom Cruise insists he treats his adopted kids and two-year-old daughter Suri exactly the same.

The actor took in Isabella, 15, and Connor, 13, when he was with ex-wife Nicole Kidman in the 90s.

‘My adopted children are my own children,’ he tells OK! ‘There’s no separation in that for me whatsoever.

'There’s no way there is any difference and anyone who has adopted would say the same.

‘I’ve been up in the middle of the night changing diapers, there’s no question in terms of me being their father, that bond couldn’t be any stronger.’

Tom, 45, is now married to Katie Holmes, 29. He and Nicole were together for 10 years before splitting in 2001.

Nicole, 41, has daughter Sunday Rose with husband Keith Urban, also 40.

Tom Cruise To Voice Villain In ‘Shrek The Fourth’

Tom Cruise is reportedly set to voice a villain in the latest Shrek film ‘Shrek Goes Fourth’.

Tom, who has never lent his voice to a cartoon during his 20-year career, has reportedly been approached to appear in the 2010 movie, the fourth instalment in the Disney franchise.

A reporter for the website cinemablend.com said:

“I got an email from one of our regular sources at DreamWorks, whispering in my ear to let you know that Tom Cruise is being considered to voice one of the villains in ‘Shrek Goes Fourth’. Very little is actually known about ‘Shrek Goes Fourth’, other than that it’s supposed to reveal Shrek’s origins and explain how he got to the swamp. Does that make it a prequel? I hope not. Where would Tom Cruise’s villain character fit in, if indeed this actually happens?”

A movie insider added:

“Tom has been looking for different roles recently and this is an ideal choice for him.”

The 46-year-old actor was reportedly inspired to voice a character in the film by Suri, his two-year-old daughter with wife Katie Holmes. Suri is a huge fan of Disney films and is often seen browsing goods with her mom in the Disney Store. A source said:

“Tom wants to do a film that his kids can watch. A lot of his films are very adult – whether in theme or in humor – and he wants to something a bit more lightweight for a change. Suri is a massive fan of all things Disney, and Tom things she would be really tickled if his voice was used for the baddie in the film.”

Tom also has two adopted children, 15-year-old Isabella and 13-year-old Connor, with ex-wife Nicole Kidman.

He's reported to have tightened up security at the LA home he shares with wife Katie Holmes, 29, after 2 anthrax threats were sent to United Artists, the film studio he runs.

The entire premises were evacuated on both occasions, although fortunately the warnings turned out to be hoaxes.

But Tom, 45, doesn't want to take any risks with his family.

Actor loses 10lb with footballer's advice

When Tom Cruise wanted to lose weight he knew exactly who to turn to – good mate David Beckham.

The actor, 46, has piled on the pounds over the past year and wanted to get rid of his spare tyre.

‘Tom had been steadily gaining weight,’ a source tells The Mail On Sunday. ‘He hated it when pictures started appearing of him with a belly and love handles. Tom has a private gym at his home and David has been working out with him.’

Tom has already lost 10lb since following 33-year-old Becks' diet and exercise regime.

‘Now he keeps telling everyone he’s in as good shape now as he was when he did Top Gun,’ the insider says.

Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes and adorable little Suri were all out for a walk together on Friday after Katie left rehersals for her Broadway debut in All My Sons.

The happy family are enjoying some time together now that they are living on opposite sides of the country with Katie busy with rehersals in New York and Tom is keeping things in check out in California.

I must add that her new shorter hair cut is definitely growing on me. It looks cute when she does a little something with it.

Power couple Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are reportedly considering starring in new comedy movie together called ‘Food Fight’.

The happy couple, who have a two-year-old daughter Suri together, are rumored to be about to make their first on-screen appearance together in the film, which tells the story of an arrogant New York chef who is forced to cook in a school cafeteria. According to Chicago Sun Times columnist Bill Zwecker, Tom is being lined up for the role of the chef, while Katie will play a teacher or member of staff in the cafeteria.

A source at Universal Pictures, who are in charge of the film which is being scripted by ‘Definitely, Maybe’ writer Adam Brooks, refused to confirm the reports, adding:

“That’s news to me!”

If the movie does go ahead, it won’t be the first time Tom will have acted alongside his real-life love interest. Tom met future wife Nicole Kidman on the set of ‘Days of Thunder’ in 1990. The pair later teamed up for ‘Far and Away’ and ‘Eyes Wide Shut’. Tom also dated his ‘Vanilla Sky’ co-star Penelope Cruz.

The move sparked rumors that Holmes had played a part in their departure, but a representative for Cruise has dismissed the claims, telling London newspaper Metro:

“This has nothing to do with Katie.”

Tom Cruise Not Returning For Top Gun Sequel

Earlier this week, speculation grew that Tom Cruise would appear in a new Top Gun movie sequel, 22 years after the original was first released with his character Maverick returning to Top Gun school as a flight instructor.

But now a representative from Paramount told Access Hollywood there was “no way” Cruise would be returning to the role.

A source tells The Sun: “The idea is Maverick is at the Top Gun school as an instructor - and this time it is he who has to deal with a cocky new female pilot.”

Luke MacFarlane Comes Ou....Who?

Is this a big deal? I'm still waiting on Anderson Cooper, Tom Cruise, Wentworth Miller, Johnny Trav, Jeremy Piven, Jodie Foster, Queen Latifah, Missy Elliot, and Ellen Page to 'fess up. Who's this bitch? I kid, I kid. it's wonderful. Luke MacFarlane of ABC's Brothers & Sisters has come out.

Luke plays the character of "Scotty" on the drama. Scotty is the boyfriend of Matthew Rhys' gay character "Kevin Walker." The show plans to have them commit to each other in a civil union in an upcoming episode. MacFarlane felt that this was a good time to bust out.

"I don't know what will happen professionally," MacFarlane said. "That is the fear, but I guess I can't really be concerned about what will happen, because it's my truth. ... There is this desire in L.A. to wonder who you are and what's been blaring for me for the last three years is how can I be most authentic to myself - so this is the first time I am speaking about it in this way."
