Solange Knowles: People think I am on drugs

Solange Knowles claims people always think she is "high".

The singer - the younger sister of former Destiny's Child singer Beyonce - says her energy levels and sporadic speech patterns make people think she is on drugs.

She said: "People think I'm high even when I'm sober."

Solange also said she sometimes tells people silly lies to try to make them laugh.

She added: "I tell lies. Not proper lies, just little lies. I started telling them - jokes I should call them - when I was very young.

"I've always had a sense of humour but people haven't always shared it."

Solange recently revealed she has been diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), but refused to accept what she was told by her first doctor so went for a second opinion.

She said: "I was diagnosed with ADD twice. I didn't believe the first doctor who told me and I had a whole theory that ADD was just something they invented to make you pay for medicine but then the second doctor told me I had it.

"I guess I was in denial. I don't understand exactly what it is. The symptoms seem to apply to everyone around me in the industry - loss of memory, starting something and not finishing it."

Solange Knowles' disorder disbelief

Solange Knowles has Attention Deficit Disorder.

The singer - whose elder sister is Beyonce Knowles - says she was diagnosed with the disorder, known as ADD, twice because she refused to accept what she was told by her first doctor.

Solange also criticised the dance routine in her new video, 'I Decided', branding it "retarded".

She added to Britain's NME magazine: "I did it all myself. Afterwards I looked back and thought it was really weird.

"I think it looks retarded."

Solange Knowles: Stop comparing me to Beyonce

Solange Knowles says she will "go crazy like Britney" if people keep comparing her to her sister.

The 22-year-old younger sibling of R'n'B superstar Beyonce Knowles says she has to joke about comparisons to her sister or it will lead to problems.

She said: "I get asked about Beyonce all the time but I try and make fun of it.

"Sometimes I say she's not my sister. Other times I say I've stuffed her in my suitcase and sent it to Dubai.

"I have to have fun with it or I'll turn into Britney - shave my head and go totally crazy."

Solange - who has just released her debut single, 'I Decided' - also revealed Americans think she is "nutty" because of her forthright attitude.

She added to Britain's Daily Star newspaper: "I get a lot of wrinkled noses because of how outspoken I am.

"Probably not in the UK because women here tend to be pretty frank and have a dry sense of humour but back home they're scared of me for some reason and think I'm a little nutty."

Solange Knowles Named New Face for Armani Jeans

Solange Knowles will be joining sister Beyonce in a new kind of family—the Armani family.

The 22-year-old singer has just been named an ambassador for the Armani Jeans line. Big sis Beyonce signed on as the face of Armani’s Diamonds fragrance last year.

“Armani Jeans expresses my vision of a young, independent, casual lifestyle with a strong and cool, fashion sensibility,” the designer told British Vogue. “Solange epitomizes this style perfectly and brings to it that swing so evident in her new single, I Decided.”

Solange’s second album SoL-AngeL and the Hadley Street Dreams with the hit song I Decide drops August 26 just before her fall tour.
