Johnny Depp's Pirate return

Image: Google

Johnny Depp will star in a fourth 'Pirates of the Caribbean' movie.

The actor - who won fans worldwide with his performance as the drunk, bearded pirate in the Disney film franchise - will reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow, Walt Disney Studios chairman Dick Cook confirmed yesterday (24.09.08).

However, Johnny is unlikely to be joined by his former co-star Keira Knightley - who played Elizabeth Swann in the first three films.

When recently asked if she would ever consider doing another 'Pirates of the Caribbean film', Keira said: "I think it was wonderful and an amazing opportunity and those films were just extraordinary and I was extremely lucky to be a part of them. But no. I think my pirating days may be over."

Speaking at a Disney press conference at Los Angeles' Kodak Theater, Cook also revealed Johnny will star as the Mad Hatter in Tim Burton's big screen adaptation of Lewis Carroll's children's novel 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland' and in an adaptation of US TV show 'The Lone Ranger'.

Johnny - who took to the stage dressed as Jack Sparrow wearing a Lone Ranger mask - will play the masked hero's Native American sidekick Tonto in the movie, produced by Jerry Bruckheimer.

Batman villain Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp will play a villain in the next Batman film.

The actor was linked to the role of The Riddler earlier this year and now one of the superhero franchise's stars Sir Michael Caine has confirmed both Johnny and Philip Seymour Hoffman will appear.

Michael - who played Bruce Wayne's butler Alfred Pennyworth in 'Batman Begins' and 'The Dark Knight' - told MTV: "I was with a Warner Bros. executive and I said, 'Are we going to make another one?' They said, 'Yeah'. I said, 'How the hell are we going to top Heath Ledger as The Joker? And he says, 'I'll tell you how you top Heath - Johnny Depp as The Riddler and Philip Seymour Hoffman as The Penguin.' I said, 'S**t, they've done it again!' "

Johnny recently described the prospect of playing The Riddler as "fun".
He said: "I heard about that. It seems like it'd be a fun gig for a while, yeah."

Work is expected to begin on the next movie, starring Christian Bale as Batman, some time next year.

Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell, Jude Law donates money to Heath Ledger's daughter

Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell and Jude Law have donated their earnings from new movie 'The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus' to Heath Ledger's daughter Matilda.

The actors - who replaced Heath following his death from an accidental prescription drugs overdose in January - wanted to give their money to Heath's two-year-old child with actress Michelle Williams to ensure she has a secure future.

The movie's director Terry Gilliam said: "The three actors were totally heroic coming in. This doesn't happen very often - where there's a tragedy like this, and very famous, very successful actors suddenly say, 'OK, we'll do whatever it takes to help.'

"They came, they did the work, they allowed the movie to be finished, they didn't take money - the money goes to Heath's daughter. That's extraordinary!

"I am so glad these guys are so humble. That's why they make a great addition to the film. It will be bittersweet seeing this movie knowing he was filming it only days before he died. This picture still hurts to see because as we all know he did die a couple of days after this picture was taken. My thoughts will always be with Heath."

Johnny, Colin and Jude will all play Heath's character Tony as he is transported into three separate dimensions, which he accesses via a paranormal mirror belonging to a travelling theatre troupe.

Johnny Depp To Play The Mad Hatter In Alice In Wonderland

depp.jpg

Johnny Depp is to play the Mad Hatter in a new version of ‘Alice in Wonderland’.

He is teaming up with director Tim Burton once again for the movie, a re-imagining of the classic children’s tale. A source said:

“Tim has had designs on ‘Alice in Wonderland’ since before he was famous.

“He has a knack for turning what seems like stories for just kids into gripping, spooky fables loved just as much by adults.

“He’s held out on doing ‘Alice’ until he got a big enough budget. Now this film is financed by Disney so money won’t be a problem.”

The movie, which is scheduled for release in 2010, will be the seventh time Johnny and Tim have worked together.

They have previously collaborated on ‘Edward Scissorhands’, ‘Ed Wood’, ‘Sleepy Hollow’, ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’, ‘Corpse Bride’ and ‘Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street’.

Australian actress Mia Wasikowska is set to star as Alice.

Robert Downey Jr. Sucks A Mean Thumb

robertdowneyjr-GQ-photos-041608-05.jpg

The actor is doing all kinds of photo shoots and interviews to promote his film, Iron Man, including a sit-down with Parade magazine where he talked about motivation for getting clean, his marriage and why in the heck he decided to take a stab at being an action star.

"I went after Iron Man because Keanu Reeves got The Matrix, and Johnny Depp got Pirates," the Oscar-nominated actor confessed. "I'm looking at all these posters of the movies I've seen with my son, and I'm thinking, 'Damn! I could do that!'"

As for these pictures, the first thing I want to point out is dang, Robert's got some purdy hands. And in response to the first five commenters who want to point out to me that the feminine hands caressing his face don't belong to him--I know, they're mine. I do a little hand modeling on the side. I have the face of a blogger and the hands of a supermodel.
