Robert Downey Jr. has decided he’s not ready to tell-all about his life just yet and has returned his advance to his publisher, HarperCollins.
HarperCollins announced the project two years ago and the book was originally due to hit shelves later this year. It was promoted as a ‘candid look at the highs and lows of his life and career,’ which would mean stories from his past fight with drugs, among other things.
But now, after postponing plans for the tell-all, he has returned the advance on his memoirs and publishers at HarperCollins have been told it won’t be written, according to the Associated Press.
Nobody is answering to why the change of heart. Downey Jr.’s spokeswoman Britney Ross has declined to go into details about his decision.
